Where to begin. When I first started with the company roughly 4 years ago I was extremely proud to wear the uniform and tell people I worked for Jet2holidays, however as time has gone on, the job has left me anxious, slightly depressed, unfulfilled and sad at the way they treat their staff. Don’t be fooled by staff professing to “Loving the job!” More often than not people are fearful to say anything negative through fear of losing their jobs.
To cut a long story short there is very little support from management and it often feels like they have limited knowledge of the business. If like me you are not over the top and showy, you will struggle in this job. The company has created a very competitive environment amongst it’s staff which is detrimental, especially for people who just want to get on with their job and not tell everyone who will listen how good they are!
There is an emphasis on teamwork however I have never worked in a more fragmented team environment in my life. The atmosphere is the complete opposite of teamwork and the term “Dog eat dog” seems more accurate.
If you are the type of person that has an opinion and ideas, this is not the job for you. You are a number. End of! The company only wants to hear YES.
If you want to work here, you will make some good money for a few years, however with a complete lack of progression, support and constant battles you may look back on your latter years with contempt instead of happiness.
