UNICEF is a lovely place to work in, it can also be challenging, but the moment you stick to schedules, you will enjoy the environment. People are friendly too and you learn from several cultures.

The project was a consultancy services, workday was hectic considering workload and the absorption capacities of the various faculties.
learnt to work with people at their pace and more importantly to respect individual's space and time
management was good, workplace excellent.
Hardest part of the work was to keep up with the diverse age groups capacity to be at alert and to cope with daily training after their rigorous exercises of the previous sessions
The most enjoyable part is that the products were delivered such that each team/state reps can own the delivered products

- Daily work in UNICEF is mainly , planning communicating with head office if needed, dealing with partner problems, comments ...etc
- In Education UNICEF work through government partners , which makes work productivity ups, and downs , and some places security situation would not allow us to visit , which means we have to depend on e-mail information , with out having the mean of verification
- Management was always a big help when facing any problem
- It was an enjoyable workplace as all staff work hand in hand, and team work was common culture .

UNICEF was slow getting back to emails and never seemed to answer the question directly. It took weeks of daily emails to coordinate a speaker for an event. Even after they confirmed, days before the event, they cancelled and made us re-do our entire project.
Once it was figured out, they sent a fellow instead of an expert... even though we repeatedly asked for an expert.
Overall the project succeeded, but not because of UNICEF.
They are, however, a great company that does great things around the world.

Good workplace with multidisciplinary experience

Good workplace that encourages multidisciplinary interaction. I am gaining project planning and management skills, and more experience in carrying out engineering projects. My communication skills are being further develop as I liaise with the engineering team to support product development, primarily development of existing and also looking at justification for new product introductions.
Frequent liaising with international offices and clients. As well as internal teams. Provide technical support to regional sales teams with product related inquiries. Regular communication across all departments including engineering, sales, marketing and operations regarding project goals, targets, issues encountered and accomplishments. Assist in identifying additional opportunities for new products and alterations to existing. The hardest part of the job is you have to cut your sleeping hours to produce the best results. The most enjoyable part of the job is everyday you learn something new and become a better engineer and person at large. The workplace culture is impressive "Team work makes the dream work."
